Communications

Harbottle Audio Ltd. does not conduct sales transactions through social media platforms or messaging platforms. All sales inquiries, quotations, order confirmations, and contractual matters must be conducted via email.

Harbottle Audio Ltd. may, at its discretion, respond to general questions via SMS text message, phone call, or WhatsApp. However:

  • Communications via phone, WhatsApp, or SMS are provided for general informational purposes only

  • Such communications are non-binding

  • They do not constitute quotations, acceptance of orders, or modifications to any agreement

  • They are not relied upon for order fulfillment, pricing, delivery, specifications, or warranty purposes

Due to volume and availability, SMS or WhatsApp messages may be missed or not replied to. Customers are responsible for ensuring that all time-sensitive, order-related, or legally relevant communications are sent via email.

Only written quotations, order acknowledgements, and order confirmations issued by Harbottle Audio Ltd. via email constitute binding agreements.

Informational communications do not modify Harbottle Audio Ltd.’s published specifications, operating limits, warranty terms, or operating requirements.

Shipping and Freight

Where shipping or freight is arranged by the purchaser or a purchaser-appointed third party, Harbottle Audio Ltd. assumes no responsibility for:

  • Carrier selection

  • Transit time

  • Loss, damage, or delay

  • Insurance coverage

  • Customs clearance, duties, taxes, or import compliance

Risk of loss transfers to the purchaser upon release of goods to the carrier or freight provider designated by the purchaser, unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.

Warranty-related shipping, examination, reimbursement, customs responsibilities, and allocation of costs are governed exclusively by the terms of Harbottle Audio Ltd.’s published Limited Consumer Warranty and applicable local law.

What Our Customers Can Expect

Customers may reasonably expect:

  • Follow-up phone calls and/or emails on or around the time of delivery and following delivery, as reasonably practicable

  • Candid, technically grounded discussions regarding product use and system goals

  • Advice provided to an appropriate degree, based on available information and intended application, and offered for general guidance only

Such advice does not constitute a modification of Harbottle Audio Ltd.’s published specifications, operating limits, calibration requirements, or warranty terms.

Engineering Philosophy and Product Design

All Harbottle Audio Ltd. products are engineered in accordance with our internal engineering model emphasizing Low Distortion and Low Compression (LDLC). This model governs design methodology, testing protocols, and quality control decisions. Corners will not be cut in pursuit of this engineering objective.

Product performance, durability, service eligibility, and remedies are governed exclusively by Harbottle Audio Ltd.’s published Limited Consumer Warranty and applicable consumer protection laws. Statements regarding engineering philosophy, design intent, or quality control do not constitute performance guarantees beyond those expressly set forth in the warranty.

Actual performance may vary depending on system integration, installation practices, calibration status, environment, and use.

Product Comparisons

Harbottle Audio Ltd. does not engage in direct product comparisons with other manufacturers when responding to customer inquiries.

Differences in design philosophy, measurement methodology, test conditions, system context, and intended application make direct comparisons unreliable without complete technical context. For this reason, Harbottle Audio Ltd. focuses on explaining its own engineering approach, performance objectives, operating limits, and published specifications rather than evaluating or characterizing competing products.

Harbottle Audio Ltd. does not interpret, validate, or characterize third-party measurements or competing products.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Customer Notices is intended to limit, exclude, or waive any statutory consumer rights or remedies that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable Canadian, United States, or European Union consumer protection laws.

Where local consumer protection laws provide greater rights than those set forth herein, those rights shall take precedence.

1. Warranty Coverage

Covered components include, when used as intended:

  • Driver cones and suspension components

  • Amplifier modules

  • DSP electronics

  • Enclosure structure and assembly

  • Finish degradation when maintained in a temperature- and humidity-controlled environment

All products are engineered and evaluated according to Harbottle Audio Ltd.’s Low Distortion, Low Compression (LDLC) performance model.

Authorized Service:
All technical service, calibration, FRUT (Factory Reference Unit Test), and any warranty-related work on Harbottle Audio products must be performed exclusively by Harbottle Certified Representatives. Service, repair, or modification by unauthorized persons will void the warranty, and Harbottle Audio Ltd. assumes no liability for damages or failures resulting from such unauthorized service.

2. Warranty Term
Standard Consumer Warranty: 4 years
The warranty start date is determined as follows:

  • If professional calibration is performed by a Harbottle Certified Representative: the warranty begins on the date the calibration is completed.

  • If professional calibration is declined by the Customer: the warranty begins on the date of purchase, provided a calibration report is submitted indicating that calibration services were offered and declined.

Note: Some countries may require a minimum warranty period under local consumer law. In such cases, the statutory period will apply.

3. Extended Consumer Warranty
The standard warranty may be extended by an additional 24 months from the date of delivery if all of the following conditions are met:

  • Calibration is performed by a Harbottle Certified Representative.

  • FRUT verification is completed.

  • A Cassini Calibration Report is submitted to and approved by Harbottle Audio Ltd.

Important: Only Harbottle Certified Representatives are authorized to perform FRUT or any warranty-related service. Subcontractors or unauthorized personnel are not permitted to perform FRUT or any technical service for warranty purposes.

4. Proof of Warranty
To make a warranty claim, the Customer must provide:

  • Proof of purchase from an authorized Distributor or Representative.

  • A copy of the calibration report (or documented calibration refusal, if applicable).

Failure to provide required documentation may delay or prevent warranty service.

5. Exclusions / Misuse
This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from:

  • Use outside Harbottle Audio Ltd.’s published operating specifications

  • Amplifier clipping or distorted input signals

  • High-energy test signals, compression testing, or SPL testing exceeding design limits

  • Improper electrical supply, unsuitable mains power, or non-compliant power cables

  • Unauthorized modification or tampering, including access to secured DSP areas

  • Physical damage, accidents, or mishandling

  • Exposure to chemicals, abrasives, excessive humidity, or extreme dryness

  • Storage or operation in unstable or unsuitable environments

  • Service, calibration, or modifications performed by unauthorized persons

Note: Room calibration and response sweeps for tuning purposes are acceptable and encouraged.
This warranty does not limit statutory consumer rights that may exist in the Customer’s country.

6. Shipping & Examination

  • The Customer is generally responsible for return shipping and insurance when submitting a product for warranty examination.

  • If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, Harbottle Audio Ltd. will reimburse reasonable shipping costs, including international shipping rates.

  • If the product is operating as designed, the Customer may be responsible for diagnostic fees and return shipping.

  • Original packaging must be retained for the duration of the warranty. Replacement packaging may be provided for a fee.

  • Customs duties, import taxes, or other charges may apply to international shipments and are the responsibility of the Customer, unless otherwise required by local law.

7. Items Not Covered
This warranty does not apply to:

  • B-stock units

  • Prototypes

  • Demo units

  • Review units

  • Products sold without full disclosure of warranty status

Used products may be subject to different warranty terms depending on disclosure at the time of sale.

8. Non-Transferability
This Limited Consumer Warranty applies only to the original end user and is non-transferable, except where local law requires otherwise.

9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Harbottle Audio Ltd. shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the product.
This limitation does not apply where prohibited by local consumer protection laws.

10. Governing Law
This warranty is governed by the laws of the country of purchase, to the extent required by local consumer protection laws. Where local law does not prescribe a governing law, this warranty shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
